Apple Watch For Your Kids

In Watch OS7 and later, Apple Watches can be set up in one of two different operating modes.

In the first mode, One Number, your iPhone and Apple Watch share the same mobile number and the same contract from the same mobile network provider. In this mode, you can only connect one Apple Watch at a time to your iPhone.

The second mode, Apple Watch For Your Kids (formerly known as Family Setup), is designed for families or groups. In Apple Watch For Your Kids mode, the Apple Watch functions as a standalone device with its own mobile number unrelated to the iPhone’s mobile network provider. Apple Watch For Your Kids also allows you to set up multiple Apple Watches using one iPhone.

BetterRoaming Apple Watch plans only function in Apple Watch For Your Kids mode.

When pairing an Apple Watch to your iPhone, you must select the mode: “Setup for a family member.” If your Watch has been previously set up as One Number and you want to give this watch to someone else as a standalone device, you can do so by resetting your Watch and selecting “Set up for a family member”.

We plan to support One Number mode for our customers in future.
